I love Lexuses. And I love Orange. The Lexus side of me makes me want this. But because no Lexus will ever come in orange, I always liked Audi a little bit too. Then Lexus posted this through their Facebook today.

What is? IS-F coupe?

Love it. I like the direction Lexus is going. They could finally be a contender against Audi, MB, BMW, etc. in the "fun" department.

It's the new RC-F. It's a separate coupe model.

I can't wait to see this car go against the BMW M and Audi S cars but for a while now they've been predicting a $100k+ price tag for this car and I'm like er nope.

I haven't really kept up with the Lexus line, but I knew about the RC-F, just hadn't seen it like this before.

Depends on what you get. I would need an Audi R8 type of experience for that kind of cash.

Here is a much better version of that:

I like large executive cars, they'd have to be pretty dang good in my world to make me want it if it's over $100k and shorter than an LS460L, A8L etc.

My life after your gif will never be the same.

Love the color.
Can't stand the front end. Gah.

Regular RC I think works the front a little better because it doesn't have the obligatory Lexus F power bulge on the hood.

$100k? highly doubtful. Its price target will be the RS5 and M4.

We are talking about the company that made their supercar $395,000 LOL. It was ridiculous, but when the $100k price tag rumors came out, it's that LEXUS TOTALLY WOULD kind of thing.

Apples to oranges, man.
The RC-F has direct competition in the market. The IS-F never sold well in the first place, despite being priced competitively. $100k is completely nonsensical. Expect $65k.
The LF-A was an engineering exercise and was priced that high to recoup some of the costs of having to re-engineer the car after deciding to switch from aluminum to carbon fiber for the chassis. If they decided from the get-go to go with CF, it may have been priced in the mid-200's. When you build bespoke machinery like carbon fiber looms, the overhead is enormous. Lexus didn't care if internet keyboard jockeys thought it was overpriced. And despite the amazingly high pricetag, the LF-A program still lost them a lot of money.
Did you and all the other critics bitch and moan that the $440k Carrera GT, with its 605hp V10, was overpriced? No you didn't. So %10 lower price with %10 less power. Same difference.
Finally, show me a filthy rich petrolhead that would balk at the LF-A's pricetag if they really wanted one (and by all accounts it is fabulous to drive). They wouldn't. They would buy one regardless and put it in the garage between the Ferraris and Ford GT's.

Ooooo oooo oooo I took a picture of one of these at work yesterday. I'm not a fan of silver or Lexus' (Lexi-?) but this thing is gorgeous!
